SteveDaStoner is Different

Milwaukee rapper (by way of Nevada) SteveDaStoner has built a name for himself in the Mil by doing things a little bit different. He is an innovator like myself. When I first arrived in Milwaukee a year and a half ago, he was bringing crowds together with this “RWS” record. He would sway back and forth with the groups of people doing the beginning part, “Woah, hold on”.

He also dances. Steve had this “Uptown / Downtown” dance to another one of his songs and blew it up on TikTok. There was a music video for that but I guess it was taken down. Many folks are surprised that someone like Steve would be dancing. I love to see it. His interpretation of “Frozen” was huge this winter.

Da Stoner puts on “free concerts” in department stores and restaurants as well. He just pulls up (with a cameraman, and often other people too) with a loud JBL speaker and goes to work. I used to have shitty jobs at places like this for too many years, and I know if I worked this place, it would make my day much better. When he does these, I see a lot of smiles.

I haven’t seen anyone this multitalented and brilliant with marketing since myself in 2009. Of course, Steve does get granted the stages and collaborations that typically go along with independent success. He just opeened for Bossman Dlow recently. I’m happy for anyone on their indpedendent grind.
